Fly-In Information

This year’s Fly-In will be at the Mebane Arts and Community Center, 622 Corregidor Street, Mebane, NC 27302.  On Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:45 PM – 7:00 PM the scouts and parents set-up tables and chairs at the center for the exhibitors.  We ask that you get there early so we can get out early.  The more boys and parents we have, the easier this job will be.  (Remember, the troop is paid for setting up the tables and chairs.)


On Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 7:00 AM, we will start getting ready to make breakfast for the visitors who will be arriving around 8:00 AM.  We need 6-8 parents to help us in the kitchen to get breakfast ready.  We will need at least two parents who can monitor the scouts who will be selling breakfast and lunch items to the vendors on the main floor.   


The lunch team will consist of 6-8 parents to help get the food prepared and served.  Please mark on your calendars about bringing the baked goods to sell on Saturday.  Cookies (4-5 in a baggie), brownies, cake, pies, etc. are examples of what we are looking for.  Please wrap all items for individual sale because this will save time. 


If you didn’t sign up to work on Friday afternoon (setting up tables and chairs) just email me and I will add your name to the list.  Saturday morning and afternoon will be our big day.  We need parents and boys to help in various areas all day.  If you haven’t signed up to work on Saturday morning or afternoon, you can email me at and I will add your name to the list.  Remember to indicate your working hours.  Breakfast will start around 7:30 and end around 10:30 - 10:45. Lunch will start around 10:45 and end around 2:15 - 2:30.


We need parents and scouts to come back around 2:45 PM to take down the tables and chairs and load the tables onto the truck.  The more people we have, the faster we will finish.

Calendar and Website Access

The website has been updated with the 2012-2013 Troop Calendar.  

Members of the troop have access to certain features of the site that are not publicly accessible.  If you create a Google sign in using the same address as you receive the Troop 39 Announcements e-mail, you gain access to this information by clicking on the Sign In link on the bottom of the page.

Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge

Automotive Maintenance
  The Alamance District is providing a chance for Scouts to earn the Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge.  The class will meet at ACC from 6:00-8:00 June 6, 13, and 20.  There is no cost for this class.  To register, please e-mail Amber Honeycutt (

Memorial Day Service Opportunities

Memorial Day Weekend - Two Service Opportunities

1. Friday May 25 from 3PM - 8PM AND Saturday May 26 from 10AM - 3PM

The VFW of Graham will be handing out poppies at the Food Lion on S. Main Street in Graham.  Scouts will hand out poppies and accept donations for the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The VFW will be there all day, but Lillie Crews (our contact person) was told that scouts would be asked to come at their convenience on Saturday between 10 and 3.

Please come and go as needed.

2. Memorial Day May 28 10:30AM - noon

Troop 39 has been asked to hand out flags and programs at Alamance County’s Memorial Day Ceremony.  This annual event is held at the Alamance County War Memorial, 212 W. Elm Street, Graham NC 27253 (in front of the the Criminal Courts Building).

The ceremony begins at 11:00AM and ends at noon.  Our scouts have participated the last three years.  Troop 39 is recognized ion the program for the event.

New Website

The Troop website has been completely redone in order to make it easier to have the scouts update items on the site.  The Troop Scribe, Troop Historian and Troop Webmaster all have the ability to add items to the Troop Happenings, the Gallery and Troop Resources.
